The month of OCTOBER came and went...gone before we knew it. I have two upcoming engagements: Monday, November 6th I will be reading some of my stories at Coffee Oasis on Nasa Rd 1 at 7 pm. Tuesday, November 7th I will be signing books at the Santa Fe High School Career Night.
October was exciting with Homecoming at our school, the Imagination Celebration and Carnival Face Painting days!
Football season finally ended and the team I coached WON the district championship! Those boys did a fantastic job! I was very proud of them.
Later this month, before the Thanksgiving break I will be heading up North to Forth Worth, Texas, attending the Texas Art Educators Conference! This month I have been working on an oil painting, a crazy weird watercolor, a pen and ink piece on a wash--a cheetah using Unity and Surrealism with ancient moon shapes suspended from poles on floating bits of rock. I also finished a new collage with a skeletal woman and a flying lamb. Some of the new artwork will get into the galleries this month.
My art students are working on their Surrealism projects and maybe I will post some of their artwork soon.
With football finally over now I can get back to my writing groups and my novels. My latest short story, THE BAREFOOT GIRL has been accepted for publication in the January issue of Long Story Short! Until next month...See you Later! Doug Hiser |
