2007! Each January most of us think of it as a new start and we are going to do better things, make a change or just try harder. I am the same way. This month I have already made a commitment to write more and have written so much more in the past two weeks than I did most of the Fall season, where the concentration was on art. The Book Club will begin reading my novel, THE HONEY BEE GIRL, next week and in February we will have the question and answer session one evening. I am very excited about that!
This month my new Short Story, THE BAREFOOT GIRL, is featured in LONG STORY SHORT zine, http://www.alongstoryshort.net/TheBarefootGirl.html.
The story is honored with being chosen as STORY of the MONTH ! I won this high honor in 2006 last March with another story called FERNANDO, a story set in Seattle about a one handed artist, a blind girl and a black panther in a cage in an artist loft.
My artwork featured in the Arts Alliance Show will be coming home this month. I have switched from the inkwork to Acrylic this month to parallel the medium of my students Art classes. I just want to wish everyone out there a Happy New Year and great success in 2007! |
