Announcement

Hello, out there in internet land.

Latest news:  Doug Hiser is the featured artist in Galveston April 2-5 2009 at FeatherFest, a festival celebrating bird watching-Ornithological societies-and birding photography- and of course- bird and nature art.

This weekend I will also split some time at the Fort Bend Writer's Guild Conference.

I am involved in multiple projects right now.  Amassing large watercolor wildlife paintings, at least one every two days, writing short stories weekly and working on the novel, The Midnight Jungle, each day-well over page two hundred now, and illustrating my own children's fish book to follow the Octopus book for chldren, and illustrating T. Haak's children's book about the journey migration of Monarch butterflies.

I have 11 new short stories this year and about halfway to having enough to fill another story collection.  Speaking at SFHS a few weeks ago was a great time and it seems the students were fans of The Honey Bee Girl and the new book, Tropical Calypso.  I also unveiled new wildlife paintings there too.

On another note I have been accepted into the Master's Graduate program for Porfessional Writing in Humanities at the Unniversity of Houston CL.  I wll begin this summer.

The last bit of news is that I am slated to teach an ink watercolor landscape and nature painting class at The Arts Alliance at CLear Lake in a few months.  Sing up at Taacl.  It will be fun and easy and I'll teach you to produce wonderful pieces of art.

Until next announcement..see you in the shadow of the lunar eclipse.  Doug Hiser
